Blade Inspection & Rope Access
Damages caused by lightning are significantly different from standard electrical faults and can seriously affect the operability and energy production of wind turbines. For this reason, it is critical that the lightning protection system (LPS) remains fully functional at all times. To ensure proper operation, the resistance level of the current conducted to the ground must not exceed the limits specified by the turbine manufacturer. These checks should be performed at regular intervals, and potential issues on the external surfaces and internal structures of the blades should also be inspected. By performing these inspections, electrical and structural weaknesses can be detected early, ensuring the turbine’s efficiency, reliability, and safety.
